100 questions of Peter Piot
Very early on in the Scamdemic, Peter Piot did an interview. Let’s review with 20/20 hindsight.
Inadvertantly states that covid is an aerosol. Something bitterly contested at this stage, of course, because it would have rendered masks obviously useless.
States in all but words that we have to lock down to stop transmission. Also grossly exaggerated the danger, but that’s par for the course.
Repeats the asymptomatic spread nonsense and opens up debate for a vaccine. And then carries on with the message of fear.
Drums fear about transmission through travel. Ie, we cannot travel. Follows that therapeutics will be available soon, and masks have limited value but use them anyway.
Slow the spread by - social distancing, closing schools, banning major gatherings. Basically all the things which never affected the outcome whatsoever.
And covid-19 will never leave us - so get vaccinated. Ooh, I recall these from my speech writing days - this is called a bridge!
And here he hints at covid becoming more deadly. Of course, this is extremely rare, it tends to go the express opposite direction. Throws in a few absurd lies ‘might live on countertops for 9 days’, ‘it’s just as lethal as 1918 flu’...
And he rounds off by hammering the message of fear home. But hooray for the WHO (never mind their role wrt Chinese lying). Take the vaccine. And beware of DANGEROUS fake news. Ie, censorship.
And that was, pretty much, the narrative. Impressively also predicted the rise of dangerous misinformation, most of which of could was perfectly true.
