With ALL of these digital proposals - digital id, digital money, etc - all of them would fail with a electric outage, computer virus or Data systems collapse. Like electric cars, when you need them in a storm or an evacuation, they won't be reliable. What you're uncovering and explaining can't be applied to cash unless all retailers start asking for a driver's license to purchase anything. I suppose it could be applied to credit card purchases -that they will be approved or denied based on carbon concerns, but that wouldn't be good for any individual credit card company. I think most credit card companies though are owned by huge Banks that have ownership in and control love other sources of citizens purchasing power.
