This is one of the best articles that I think I have ever read to date.

It spans the last 200 years of Marxist ideology, explains the systematic development and implementation of centrtalized control over our lives, and the use of both energy and cental banking to achieve this neo-feudalism slavery panopticon digital planet slavery system.

And frames the abundance, scarcity and crises policies accurately, which explains why most of the people on planet earth struggle in the money as debt and interest scarcity slavery system we live in. Thank you for your work on this article, I can't imagine how many hours of research, thinking and writing that went into it, well done.

Plenty of people reporting on that..our finite world, surplus energy economics, the honest sorcerer..

In fact it might be what scuppers their plans!

Yes!

Before cheap oil and for most of human history, the energy that fueled complex societies was human--slave or serf.

Cheap oil has enabled all of this, what we have now.

I say cheap because the price of oil matters a lot: Too expensive and manufactures go bankrupt, too cheap and oil companies go bankrupt.

We are at the point where all the easy-to-extract deposits have been used up. Deep sea wells, fracking? Expensive. When it costs the equivalent of a barrel of oil to extract a barrel of oil, that will be the end of it. Almost. Fracking companies are not profitable and hundreds have gone bankrupt in the last 5 years. If they are operating, it's because they are being financed with money from elsewhere.

As for "renewables," they are entirely dependent on cheap oil--for manufacture, for transport, for installation and for maintenance. Even for the mining and refining of the base metals and minerals of their constituent parts. Even for maintaining all the roads. Even for producing, preserving and transporting of all the food that all the workers require for the whole process.

The electrical grid is fragile. A nuclear power plant at a data center? Irrelevant if there's not abundant cheap oil for maintaining the grid. Scuppered!

we are nowhere near running out. EROEI is not bad for in-situ shale, and if worst comes to worst, it's not hard to run fischer-tropsch processes, which are actually very efficient these days. doing these alone would rapidly improve the situation, but it's kind of telling that drillers are not even allowed to drill that it's not actually about running out at all. because if we actually WERE about to run out, few if any governments would stop issuing permits. it's about control.

further, nuclear has been drowned in vast amounts of red tape, ever since the release of the 'nugget file' in 1979, amazingly timed with the highly unlikely sequence of events taking place wrt three mile island took place, aided by the 'union of concerned scientists' who were actively against nuclear int he 70s, yet now lie about their role in nuclear being drowned in red tape.

Producers have been over-reporting their reserves--of course they have!--so we don't know how much is left.

The Permian shale was supposed to be productive for decades but it's tapping out. Shale extraction declines very quickly. Seems like that was not taken into account in industry projections.

Shale produces light distillates ie kerosene, but not diesel. Diesel is required for all heavy equipment including freight ships and trains. Sure fischer-tropsch could turn kerosene or coal or trees into diesel, but at what cost. Renewables aren't going to power those plants. Nuclear? Still dependent on cheap oil--for construction, mining/refining uranium, copper, cooling pond back-up generators, maintenance, etc.

It used to be that oil producers could just stick a pipe in the ground and abundant energy would flow out. That we are now dependent on these high effort/ high cost sources, shows that there is a supply-side problem.

all of those arguments were made 15 years ago, no kidding. every single one. in the meantime, technoloy has taken steps forward while drilling is refused, and the largest tar sands in the world - orinoco - is essentially mothballed.

i know this, because 15 years ago i was deeply vested in the peak oil narrative.

the same peak oil, floated by MK Hubbert of Technocracy, Inc - the express organisation which promoted the energy certificate - ie, management of an (artificial) scarcity - oil - and et voila - here we are.

we are nowhere near running out of oil. we haven't even begun to seriously tap into orinoco.

15 years is nothing in terms of our social arrangements and energy dependence.

The Orinoco deposit has, apparently, between 316 billion and 513 billion barrels of recoverable oil. In 2023, we were consuming globally, 37.4 billion barrels per year. So there's the equivalent of 13 years of production there, optimistically.

How reliable is the claim that Hubbert co-founded Technocracy Inc? I'd not heard that before and we are in the age of a malleable historical record.

I have heard it said the shale can be extended to Mexico and that the tar sands still have a good bit (as low as the EROEI is). Also looks like they might be spreading democracy to Venezuela 😉. How long can it hold is anyone's guess?

Do they know all this and the 'control grid' is to handle the ensuing chaos? or is the control grid an organic evolution of systems

I think it's both.

Also, the most efficient way to conserve a resource is to get end-users to reduce consumption. That's already happening. There is an international agreement to ban all internal combustion engine vehicles. That goes into effect in 2035 in my area. All the farmers here have big diesel tractors. They are not going to be replaced with EVs. Food production is going to tank. That's why we are being primed to eat the bugs?

The nuclear power technology of Light Water Nuclear reactors are an accident waiting to happen in so many scenarios. Fukishima, 3 Mile Island demonstrated that clearly. Disaster was narrowly averted. These LWN plants Should be shut down asap. That nuclear path was chosen largely for Cold War reasons. They wanted plutonium for hydrogen bombs. Nuclear waste is not an easily resolvable problem. We dont need more depleted uranium.

That said, investment in good nuclear alternatives (fusion, Thorium, etc.) to LWN has been limited likely for the reasons you state that abundance of energy destroys their whole narrative of scarcity. Only China has been doing serious development of these alternatives.

A physicist, LeClaire, has determined that cavitation of water against the vessel walls causes cold fusion. He is reproducing what Ponds & Fleischman discovered but he has determined the physics behind it and made it reproducible. This process generates mineral elements (and other unknown effects?) and creates zero point energy. He made a presentation at Physics, Chemistry & Biology of Water Conference (2012). He claimed cavitation creates “crystalline water jets” that form under extreme pressure during bubble collapse, and persist for microseconds. The claimed effects are fusion and fission in water, “zero point energy extraction” and elemental transmutation across the periodic table.[5]

This is a great essay esc! I'm listening to your older essays as well as your current ones. I like the Substack audio feature. It's easier for me to listen, than it is to read. Even though much of what you write is still over my head, I believe that if I continue to pace with you, and listen to your older posts, I will end up educated on all of it. I was not interested before, in learning about the mechanisms of how they are implementing the global digital control grid. It's just not what I'm naturally drawn to. But I'm very interested in the history of how we got to where we are today; and the mechanisms are at the heart of that. I value your impeccable research, and the heart you have to educate people about the evil deeds of these Fabian parasites. I have been researching for decades on all things health-related, but until C-19, I hadn't followed politics. Just listening to this essay, it finally clicked for me, how the fake dangers of Chernobyl and Fukashima were used to implement more of their energy scarcity policies. Thank you.
